Alteration to Neuromuscular Function and Performance after Vibration and Exercise

چکیده
INTRODUCTION Approximately 4 to 7 percent of workers are exposed to potentially harmful levels of WBV in Canada, the United States, and some European countries [1]. Exposure to vibration is known to cause certain physiological responses. However, there is still a lack of understanding on how these responses tax the neuromuscular system. The objective was To investigate whether exposure to vibration along with exercise induced a phenomenon of fatigue revealed by physiological, mechanical, and muscular parameters in the lower-limb muscles, and to determine the origin (central vs. peripheral) of the fatigue of the knee-extensor muscles.

Background and Aims: Whole body vibration exercise by affecting the neuromuscular system and mechanical mechanisms increase muscles strength. This study investigated the effect of whole body vibration training on neuromuscular function of elderly men. Methods: Based on a randomized controlled trial design, 72 retired elderly men with a mean age of 73.00 ± 2.67 years participated in thisstudy. A...

Objective: Recently, whole body vibration exercise has been developed as a new modality in the field of physiotherapy. It has been suggested that this exercise increases muscle power and strength and improves muscular performance. This study was performed to investigate the short term effects of the vibration training on the maximal push up in non-athlete female students. Materials and Metho...
متن کاملAcute changes in neuromuscular excitability after exhaustive whole body vibration exercise as compared to exhaustion by squatting exercise.
The effects of hard squatting exercise with (VbX+) and without (VbX-) vibration on neuromuscular function were tested in 19 healthy young volunteers. Before and after the exercise, three different tests were performed: maximum serial jumping for 30 s, electromyography during isometric knee extension at 70% of the maximum voluntary torque, and the quantitative analysis of the patellar tendon ref...
